A study in vivacity. This small Cottonwood is growing in the Merced riverbed at Happy Isles. With its backlit leaves dancing in a light breeze, it positively glowed in front of the shady backdrop. From the pool of water under the large rock, the water cascades down through the rocks to meet the “eastern” main channel.

The lines were laid in as a hard ground etching, followed by multiple aquatint tones. Printed in black ink, then hand-colored with watercolors.

Elegantly framed by The Artworks, Paso Robles.
