A delightful explosion of color! David saw a bouquet of these cheery red-dyed sunflowers at the grocery store and immediately knew he would paint them. Many different techniques come together in this painting. Scumbled layers, broken color, built up forms and textured brushstrokes fill the image with life and depth.
